ST-LEGIER, May 13, 2002 - CNET Channel, a business unit of CNET Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNET) today announced a strategic partnership with the ACTEBIS Group. Actebis plans to use CNET Channel's technology product information service, DataSource™, for its European operations. Having already adopted the technology in France, Germany and Switzerland, ACTEBIS is now implementing it in the UK and plans to roll it out in several other European countries over the next three months.

"The growing use of our e-commerce tools means it is becoming increasingly important to provide up-to-the-minute product information. CNET Channel's product data is therefore an important step for us in further optimising our service," explained Michael Urban, CEO of ACTEBIS Holding GmbH. "Retailers can use this information to provide their customers with better and even more focused advice."

It is becoming extremely important for all distributors to increase Internet sales significantly. DataSource is a scalable solution delivering consistent data across localised regions making it particularly suitable for international markets. By using DataSource ACTEBIS can offer its resellers improved purchasing options through superior standardised content with additional software functions.

"We are particularly proud of the fact that yet another market-leading broad-line distributor like ACTEBIS has chosen CNET Channel for its European operations," says Albert de Heer, President of CNET Channel. "Our data keeps our customers constantly up to date in an intensely competitive market, facilitating the buying and selling process by allowing faster and easier access to comprehensive and coherent product information."

DataSource from CNET Channel is a product catalog maintenance service. It transforms, on demand, the customer's product portfolio into rich, granular, and standardised product data, called Transactive Product Data™ (TPD™). With TPD, CNET Channel has defined within the industry how IT products are categorised, described and documented to deliver valuable information to help users make well informed buying decisions and purchases. Developed by CNET Channel, TPD is used by both online and offline IT channel players and is one of the most frequently accessed sources of product information worldwide. A huge international community of over 150 million IT consumers benefits from TPD through the partnership companies working together with CNET Channel.
