St-Legier, December 2, 2003 - CNET Channel, a subsidiary of CNET Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNET) today announced that Systemax, a leading manufacturer and distributor of PCs and related computer products in North America and Europe, has chosen DataSource™, CNET Channel's catalog maintenance service, to power its Web sites across Europe. Building on a successful relationship in the U.S., Systemax chose the DataSource service to help expand its online European business. More than ten Systemax Web sites in Europe are already channeling 20,000 to 30,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) from DataSource. Implementation throughout Europe, with the final phases being in France and Italy, will be complete by the end of this year.

DataSource transforms the Systemax product portfolio into rich, granular and standardised product data, making it easy for employees and customers to access at any time. By providing up-to-date and well-organized product information, Systemax can support advanced features such as parametric and advanced search, intuitive browsing and navigation as well as side-by-side comparisons.

"Since the initial implementation of DataSource, we have seen a significant increase in our online business generated by increased website activity," said Cliff Steele, Group Supply Chain Director at Systemax. "Although we have an existing relationship with CNET Channel in the U.S. we had to make sure that DataSource was the right solution for our business in Europe, and our success has proven the business case."

"With approximately 40,000 products offered to millions of customers in Europe, we need a solution that allows us effectively to manage a substantial amount of product detail so that our sales people are able to offer a highly intelligent service to our customers," added Steele. "CNET Channel's DataSource solution gives us a cost-effective way to provide better service while saving money on data production and maintenance."

James Symington, UK sales manager at CNET Channel, explains "Our DataSource service plays a strategically important role in the scaling of Systemax e-commerce business in Europe. They can now rely on one single source of product information to power their websites in multiple countries and in multiple languages."

Systemax is also using the DataSource service to give their sales force greater access to the company intranet, providing them with the information they need to get their jobs done. Sales people can now run detailed queries and create customised comparison charts to form expert recommendations on product selection.
