(NASDAQ: TIBX) announced today that CNET Channel, a property of CNET Networks, Inc., has chosen TIBCO to help provide a powerful new content delivery platform. This project will significantly enhance customer experience for more than 2,100 global channel businesses and high technology manufacturers that rely on CNET Channel to power their e-commerce platforms and drive sales. CNET Channel needed an enterprise-level solution to meet massive content, distribution, processing and customization of data - as well as the transformation of that data from and into different formats. Leveraging TIBCO's enterprise services backbone infrastructure, CNET Channel will be able to deliver a new breed of products and services for a wide variety of channel businesses. "Capitalizing on a better way to gather, map and distribute information is critical to further enhancing our customer experience," said Steve Parrott, general manager, CNET Channel. "Working with TIBCO will help enable CNET Channel to offer added value to customers by providing a single source of aggregated best-of-breed content, rich media and e-commerce services." As part of the agreement, CNET Channel will utilize TIBCO BusinessWorks and TIBCO BusinessConnect to create a scalable, secure and reliable platform to aid in gathering, mapping and distributing product information. This in turn will help to increase the company's productivity in development and operations. "Companies that use CNET Channel content solutions comprise nearly 80 percent of all primary channel businesses in the United States and Europe, so it's imperative that their customer experience is more than successful," said Ram Menon, executive vice president, worldwide marketing, TIBCO Software.
